Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 teaspoons hamburger seasoning (homemade or store-bought)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices American cheese (or cheddar, pepper jack, or Swiss)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 390°F (199°C).
  2. Divide ground beef into four equal portions and form into patties about 1 inch wider than the buns, as they will shrink when cooked.
  3. Season both sides of each patty liberally with burger seasoning.
  4. Once the air fryer is hot, place patties into the basket in a single layer.
  5. Air fry for 5 minutes. Flip each patty and cook for an additional 3–4 minutes. (Cook 3 minutes for a warm pink center.)
  6. Optional: Place a slice of cheese on each patty and close the air fryer basket. Let sit 1–2 minutes to melt the cheese using residual heat (do not turn the air fryer back on).
  7. While cheese melts, prepare burger buns with your favorite condiments and toppings.
  8. Place a patty on each bun and serve warm.

Notes

  • Frozen Patties: Air fry at 390°F for 10–11 minutes.
  • Leftovers: Store cooled patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3–4 days.
  • Freezing: Wrap cooled patties in plastic wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
