- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 bone-in chicken thighs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
- Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel and arrange the pieces on a plate or platter.
- Coat the chicken with olive oil and then season both sides with the prepared seasoning mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 415°F (210°C).
- Arrange the chicken, skin side down, in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Work in batches if necessary.
- Air fry the chicken for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken and air fry for an additional 4-5 minutes. Check the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer. If the chicken pieces are larger, you may need to cook them for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, increase the cayenne pepper or add chili flakes to the seasoning mix.
- For extra crispiness, lightly spray the chicken with cooking spray before air frying.
- These chicken legs are great with a side of roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes.
