Ingredients
Apples
- 2 red apples (Pink Lady, Honeycrisp, or Gala), peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch bite-sized cubes
Glaze
- 2 tablespoons real maple syrup, divided
- 1 tablespoon melted refined coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 380°F and lightly spray the basket with non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
- Toss Apples: In a bowl, combine the peeled and cubed apples with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, melted coconut oil, and cinnamon. Toss well to evenly coat all the apple pieces.
- Air Fry Apples: Place the coated apple cubes into the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, avoiding overlap for even cooking.
- Cook: Air fry the apples for 10 to 14 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking. The apples should be golden, slightly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
- Glaze and Serve: Remove the apples from the air fryer and toss them with the remaining 1 tablespoon of maple syrup while still warm. Serve immediately, optionally with vanilla ice cream or oatmeal.
Notes
- Maple Syrup: Recommended for authenticity, but honey can be used as a substitute if preferred.
- Coconut Oil: Use refined coconut oil to avoid a coconut flavor; olive oil is also a good alternative.
- Storing: Best enjoyed within 20 minutes, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Reheating: Reheat in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 to 45 seconds until warm.
