Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 pinches salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons whole milk, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Other
- 2 cups apples, peeled and finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and ground cinnamon. Whisk to evenly distribute the ingredients.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, whole milk, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter to keep the bread tender.
- Fold in Apples: Carefully fold in the finely chopped peeled apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter without overworking it.
- Pour Batter and Smooth: Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula for an even surface.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Cool: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and texture.
- Do not overmix the batter to maintain a light and tender crumb.
- You can substitute apples with other firm fruits like pears for variation.
- Ensure apples are finely chopped to distribute flavor evenly.
