Ingredients
Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing Ingredients
- 1 avocado (peeled and pitted)
- 1 clove garlic (peeled, optional)
- 1 small jalapeño (cut and seeds removed)
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves (loosely-packed)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup water (adjust for desired consistency)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Place the avocado, garlic (if using), jalapeño, fresh cilantro leaves, lime juice, olive oil, cumin seeds, salt, and black pepper into a blender.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend all ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pause and scrape down the sides of the blender as needed to ensure even blending.
- Adjust Consistency: If the dressing is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time or add a bit more olive oil, then blend again until the desired consistency is reached.
- Season to Taste: Taste the dressing and adjust the salt, pepper, or lime juice as needed to suit your preference.
- Store Properly: Transfer the dressing to a glass jar with a lid and refrigerate until ready to use. Use within 3-4 days for best freshness.
Notes
- Garlic is optional; omit if you prefer a milder flavor.
- Removing seeds from the jalapeño reduces heat; keep seeds if you like it spicier.
- Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor; bottled lime juice can alter the taste.
- If you want a thinner dressing, increase the water gradually.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within a few days.
