Ingredients
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp dried thyme

- 4 whole boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ¼ cup butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Seasoning:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
- Marinate the Chicken:
- Place the chicken breasts in a large zip-top bag and pour the seasoning mixture over the chicken.
- Seal the bag and shake the chicken to coat evenly.
- Transfer the chicken to the refrigerator and marinate for 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Bake the Chicken:
- Remove the chicken from the bag and arrange the breasts on a baking sheet lined with foil.
- Place 1 tablespoon of butter on top of each chicken breast.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer registers 165°F (75°C).
- Rest the Chicken:
- Remove the chicken from the oven and cover with foil. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately, or allow to cool to room temperature. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for up to 36 hours.
