Ingredients
- 1 medium ripe banana, halved
- 1/3 cup quick oats (check labels for gluten-free)
- 2/3 cup Orgain’s vanilla protein shake
- 3 tablespoons egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon pure maple syrup
- 5 grams chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Slice half of the banana and set aside for topping.
- Mash the other half of the banana with a fork and place it in a small pot along with the oats, protein shake, and egg whites. Mix well.
- Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil. Once it boils, continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens.
- Pour the cooked oatmeal into a bowl and top with the remaining banana, chopped walnuts, and maple syrup.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your protein-packed breakfast!
Notes
- For an extra creamy texture, you can add a splash of milk or almond milk while cooking.
- Feel free to swap walnuts for other nuts like almonds or pecans if you prefer.
- If you prefer a sweeter oatmeal, add a little more maple syrup or a dash of cinnamon.
