These baked Buffalo Chicken Wontons are filled with creamy buffalo chicken and cheese, then baked until golden brown for a crispy, flavorful snack. Drizzle with ranch or blue cheese for the perfect finish!

  • Total Time: 12-15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 wontons

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • Wonton wraps (found at any grocery store)
  • 8 oz package of cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 2 cups shredded chicken (cut into very fine pieces)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup buffalo wing sauce
  • ½ cup sliced green onions
  • Other Supplies Needed:
  • Non-stick spray or parchment paper
  • Pan for warming the chicken mixture
  • Basting brush
  • Baking sheet
  • Fork or spoon (for mixing and scooping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a pan, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, ¼ cup of green onions, and buffalo wing sauce.
  3. Place the chicken mixture in the pan over low heat. Stir regularly until everything is warm (not hot).
  4. On a prepared baking sheet (using parchment paper or non-stick spray), lay out the wonton wrappers.
  5. Melt the butter in a small bowl until fully liquid.
  6. Using a basting brush, paint a line of melted butter along the edge of each wonton wrapper.
  7. Scoop a portion of the buffalo chicken and cheese mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper.
  8. Pinch all 4 corners of the wonton wrappers up and around the chicken mixture to form a bundle. Seal any holes by pressing the wrapper together.
  9. Brush the tops of the wontons with the remaining melted butter.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the wontons are golden brown.
  11. Serve hot with a side of blue cheese dip, ranch dressing, and sprinkle extra green onions on top. For extra flavor, drizzle with more buffalo wing sauce and additional dressings on the side.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the tops of the wontons with non-stick spray before baking.
  • Feel free to add a bit more buffalo sauce to the chicken mixture for an extra spicy kick.
  • If you prefer a lighter version, you can use low-fat cream cheese and reduced-fat cheddar cheese.
