Ingredients
- For the Biscuits:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
- ¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks), divided
- 1 cup whole milk
- 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the Butter: Melt 1 stick (½ cup) of butter in a small microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds. Set aside.
- Make the Biscuit Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon salt. Whisk until well mixed.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the melted butter and milk to the flour mixture and whisk gently until just combined (do not overmix).
- Fold in the Cheese: Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Scoop the Biscuits: Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Make the Garlic Butter: While the biscuits bake, melt the remaining ½ stick (¼ cup) of butter in a small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Add ¼ teaspoon salt and parsley, and stir.
- Brush with Butter: Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush them with the melted butter mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra cheesy flavor, feel free to add more shredded cheddar to the dough.
- These biscuits are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container for a few days.
- You can also freeze unbaked biscuits and bake them fresh when needed.
