These Cheddar Bay Biscuits are light, tender, and bursting with buttery, garlicky goodness. Made in just 20 minutes, they’re the perfect addition to any meal and a copycat of the famous Red Lobster biscuits!

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 18 biscuits

Ingredients

  • For the Biscuits:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks), divided
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 8 ounces shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the Butter: Melt 1 stick (½ cup) of butter in a small microwave-safe bowl for about 30 seconds. Set aside.
  3. Make the Biscuit Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: Add the melted butter and milk to the flour mixture and whisk gently until just combined (do not overmix).
  5. Fold in the Cheese: Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Scoop the Biscuits: Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  8. Make the Garlic Butter: While the biscuits bake, melt the remaining ½ stick (¼ cup) of butter in a small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Add ¼ teaspoon salt and parsley, and stir.
  9. Brush with Butter: Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush them with the melted butter mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra cheesy flavor, feel free to add more shredded cheddar to the dough.
  • These biscuits are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container for a few days.
  • You can also freeze unbaked biscuits and bake them fresh when needed.
