Juicy seasoned ground beef layered with melty cheese and baked in soft buns — these cheesy sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer or easy dinner favorite.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 green pepper, finely diced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 6 regular sandwich buns or 12 slider buns
  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over high heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and add yellow onion, green onion, and green pepper. Sauté for 6–8 minutes, until softened.
  3. Season with salt, black pepper, paprika, oregano, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes more, then remove from heat and stir in mayonnaise.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly butter the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Place the bottom halves of the buns into the baking dish.
  6. Top with pepper jack cheese slices, followed by the beef mixture. Sprinkle with shredded Colby Jack cheese, then add the top halves of the buns.
  7. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 15–20 minutes, until cheese is melted and buns are golden.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use slider buns for bite-sized servings or regular buns for larger sandwiches.
  • Cheese can be swapped with your favorite type, such as cheddar or mozzarella.
  • Leftovers can be wrapped and reheated for a quick meal.
