Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup milk (or 2%)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 10 pieces Butter Bread
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and sugar until the mixture is smooth and pale yellow in color. Whisk in the vanilla extract, half of the ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Heat a griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter on it.
- Quickly dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides, and place it on the hot griddle. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
- Repeat the process with the remaining bread, adding the rest of the cinnamon to the egg mixture halfway through the cooking process.
- If desired, keep the French toast warm by placing it in a preheated 200°F (93°C) oven until ready to serve.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- You can top the French toast with your favorite syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
- For extra richness, use thick slices of bread, like brioche or challah.
- Feel free to add a dash of nutmeg or a spoonful of honey for an extra twist on flavor.
