This classic French toast is made with buttery bread, a sweetened egg mixture, and a dash of cinnamon for the ultimate breakfast treat. Simple to make and perfect for any morning!

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • ½ cup milk (or 2%)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 10 pieces Butter Bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and sugar until the mixture is smooth and pale yellow in color. Whisk in the vanilla extract, half of the ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Heat a griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter on it.
  3. Quickly dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides, and place it on the hot griddle. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
  4. Repeat the process with the remaining bread, adding the rest of the cinnamon to the egg mixture halfway through the cooking process.
  5. If desired, keep the French toast warm by placing it in a preheated 200°F (93°C) oven until ready to serve.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy!
