This easy and indulgent creamy garlic shrimp comes together in just 15 minutes. With tender shrimp in a rich, garlicky cream sauce, it’s the ultimate comfort food and perfect for busy weeknights or impressing guests with minimal effort.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • For the Shrimp:
  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • For the Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • For Garnish:
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season the Shrimp: Toss the shrimp with paprika, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  2. Sear the Shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, flipping each side until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in chicken broth and simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  4. Add Cream and Cheese: Pour in the heavy cream, then stir in Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  5. Combine & Serve: Return the shrimp to the skillet and coat with the creamy sauce. Simmer on low heat for 2 more minutes until heated through.
  6. Garnish & Enjoy: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.

Notes

  • You can substitute half-and-half for a lighter option.
  • Adjust the level of heat by increasing or omitting the red pepper flakes.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with pasta, rice, or even served as an appetizer with crusty bread.
