Ingredients
- 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 ounces)
- 2 cups (1 12-ounce bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Butter a square pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the fudge. Set aside.
- In a microwave-safe 2-quart bowl, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat on high for 1 minute.
- Remove the bowl from the microwave and let it sit for 1 minute. Stir to combine. If needed, heat for an additional 30 seconds and stir until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the fudge into the prepared pan and let it cool completely. You can speed up the cooling process by refrigerating it for about 1 hour.
- Once cooled, cut the fudge into 1-inch squares. Store in an airtight container. Fudge does not need to be refrigerated.
Notes
- Be sure to use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk, as it will not set properly.
- If the fudge is too soft, refrigerate it or add an extra ¼ cup of chocolate chips for a firmer texture.
- Some users have found that using a metal spoon (instead of a wooden one) helps the fudge set properly.
