Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cauliflower, sliced about ½” thick
- ¼ cup oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme (or herbs of choice)
- ½ teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- ½ cup cheese (feta, cotija, parmesan, cheddar)
- 2 tablespoons minced parsley or cilantro (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high to high heat. Scrape the grill grates to ensure they are clean.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine the oil, garlic, soy sauce, dried thyme, lemon pepper seasoning, chili powder, and onion powder. Whisk the ingredients together to make the marinade.
- Marinate the Cauliflower: Brush the marinade generously on all sides of the cauliflower slices. Sprinkle with kosher salt and black pepper to taste.
- Grill the Cauliflower Steaks: Gently place the marinated cauliflower steaks on the grill. Cook for about 2-4 minutes per side, or until nicely charred with crispy edges. Flip carefully to keep the cauliflower steaks intact.
- Add Cheese and Garnish: Remove the steaks from the grill and place them on a platter. Immediately sprinkle with cheese while the cauliflower is still hot so it can melt. Garnish with minced parsley or cilantro.
- Serve: Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- Cheese Options: You can swap the cheese for your favorite variety like mozzarella, gouda, or goat cheese, depending on your flavor preferences.
- Spicy Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade for extra heat.
