Ingredients
- For the Grilled Salmon Steaks:
- 4 (6-oz / 170g each) salmon steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- For the Jalapeño Salsa:
- 1 jalapeño chile, chopped
- ⅓ cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 lemon, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
- ¼ small red onion, finely chopped
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Make the Jalapeño Salsa:
- In a bowl, combine the chopped jalapeño, olive oil, fresh dill, cumin seeds, lemon slices, red onion, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine and set aside.
- Prepare the Salmon Steaks:
- Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Season the salmon steaks with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil, turning the steaks to coat them evenly.
- Grill the Salmon:
- Sear the salmon steaks on the griddle, cooking on both sides for about 5–7 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through but still slightly translucent in the center.
- Serve:
- Immediately serve the grilled salmon steaks topped with a generous spoonful of jalapeño salsa. Enjoy!
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, you can grill the salmon steaks on an outdoor grill instead of a griddle.
- Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or fewer jalapeños in the salsa.
- Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or rice for a complete meal.
