This High Protein Dill Pickle Dip is a creamy, tangy, and flavorful appetizer perfect for snacking or entertaining. Made with a blend of cottage cheese, cream cheese, and Greek yogurt, it offers a protein-packed alternative to traditional dips. Enhanced with dried and fresh dill, garlic and onion powders, and diced dill pickles, this dip is both refreshing and savory. It’s easy to prepare in just 30 minutes and pairs wonderfully with fresh vegetables, crackers, or chips.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Dairy Base

  • 1 cup 1% – 2% cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup softened plain cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

Seasonings

  • 3/4 tsp dried dill
  • 1 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • Pinch of pepper or chili flakes

Fresh Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh dill
  • 3/4 cup diced dill pickles

Garnishes

  • Fresh dill
  • Chopped dill pickles
  • Crushed pita chips, crackers, or plain chips

Instructions

  1. Blend the base: Add the cottage cheese, softened cream cheese, and plain Greek yogurt to a food processor or blender. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until you achieve a smooth, creamy texture without lumps.
  2. Mix in seasonings: Transfer the creamy mixture to a bowl. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, dried dill, kosher salt, pepper or chili flakes, fresh chopped dill, and diced dill pickles. Mix thoroughly to combine all flavors evenly.
  3. Chill the dip: Refrigerate the dip for 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and to chill for serving. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with additional fresh dill, chopped pickles, and crushed chips or crackers right before serving. For meal prep storage, garnish only with fresh dill.
  4. Serve: Present the dip with an assortment of fresh vegetables, crackers, pita chips, or plain chips for dipping. Enjoy this high-protein, flavorful appetizer.

Notes

  • Use 1%-2% cottage cheese for a balance between creaminess and lower fat content.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of dill to your taste preference for a stronger or milder herb flavor.
  • Chill time is important to develop the best flavor; do not skip refrigeration before serving.
  • For a spicier kick, increase the pinch of chili flakes.
  • This dip keeps well for up to 3 days in the fridge when stored in an airtight container.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers such as veggie sticks, pita bread, or your favorite chips for versatility.
