  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • For the Chicken Wings:
    • 2 pounds chicken wings
    • 3 tablespoons potato starch
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • ¼ teaspoon paprika
    • Oil spray
  • For the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:
    • ½ cup honey
    • 1 lemon, zested
    • ¼ cup lemon juice (or more, to taste)
    • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 12 teaspoons ground pepper
    • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture.
  2. In a bowl, combine potato starch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss the chicken wings in the mixture until well-coated.
  3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and lightly spray it with oil. Arrange the chicken wings in a single layer on the sheet pan, and spray the tops of the wings with more oil.
  4. Reduce the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and bake the wings for 35–40 minutes, flipping them halfway through and spraying with more oil as needed, until golden and crispy.
  5. While the wings are baking, make the sauce: In a small saucepan, combine honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, butter, salt, and pepper. Simmer over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is well combined. Set aside a small portion of the sauce for dipping.
  6. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a bowl and toss them in the honey lemon pepper sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Serve hot, with the reserved sauce on the side for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crispy wings, increase the cooking time by 5-10 minutes, making sure to flip them halfway through.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon juice to suit your taste preference—more for a tangier flavor.
  • If you prefer spicier wings, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
