Ingredients
- 2 Black Tea Bags (or 2 teaspoons loose leaf tea)
- 1 ripe mango (or frozen mango cubes)
- 4 cups water (divided)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- Ice
- Mango slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Steep the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water, then pour it into a large pitcher. Add the tea bags (or loose leaf tea) and steep for about 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and set aside.
- Prepare the Mango Puree: In a saucepan, combine the remaining 2 cups of water and diced mango. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, mashing the mango with a spoon to create a puree.
- Strain and Mix: Strain the mango puree into the pitcher with the brewed tea, then stir in the honey. Mix until the honey is fully dissolved.
- Chill and Serve: Let the tea cool down to room temperature, then place it in the fridge to chill. Serve with ice and garnish with fresh mango slices.
Notes
- Sweetener Substitutes: You can use agave nectar, maple syrup, or stevia instead of honey for a different kind of sweetness.
- Herbal Tea: Swap the black tea for green tea or a caffeine-free herbal tea like chamomile for a lighter version.
- Add Fresh Herbs: For a twist, add a sprig of mint or basil to the tea before serving for an extra refreshing flavor.
- Fruit Mix-ins: Try adding other fruits like peaches, strawberries, or pineapple for a different fruit-infused iced tea.
