- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 jar (28 ounces) marinara sauce
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 package (18 ounces) frozen cheese ravioli
- 1–2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Chopped basil or parsley, for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a large oven-safe skillet, brown the ground chicken over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Add the marinara sauce, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Mix well. Scoop out about half of the sauce and set it aside.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, fresh parsley, garlic powder, remaining 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and grated parmesan. Stir until well combined.
- Place the frozen cheese ravioli over the sauce in the skillet (or in the prepared casserole dish if not using an oven-safe skillet).
- Spoon the ricotta mixture evenly over the ravioli and gently spread it out.
- Pour the reserved sauce over the top, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Let the casserole rest for 15 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
- Top with fresh basil or parsley before serving, if desired.

- Letting the casserole sit after baking helps it firm up and makes serving easier.
- You can substitute ground turkey, sausage, or beef for the ground chicken.
- Use your favorite store-bought or homemade marinara sauce for best flavor.
