Ingredients
For the Sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 2 tablespoons French dressing
- 2 tablespoons finely minced white onion
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
For the Burgers:
- 1½ pounds ground beef, 80/20
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3/4 teaspoon black pepper
For Serving:
- Shredded iceberg lettuce
- Pickle slices
- 6 slices American cheese, cut into fourths (2 squares per burger)
- 12 slider buns
- Ghee spray, optional
- Toasted sesame seeds, optional
Instructions
- Make the sauce: Combine mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, French dressing, finely minced white onion, white vinegar, sugar, and kosher salt in a bowl. Mix well, then refrigerate until ready to use.
- Prepare the burgers: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with kosher salt and black pepper. Mix gently by hand until just combined. Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions, each about 2 ounces.
- Form the patties: Place each portion between two pieces of wax paper and use the flat bottom of a drinking glass to press and flatten the meat into thin patties. Transfer patties to a platter or cutting board lined with wax paper and repeat for all portions.
- Cook the patties: Preheat a griddle to 350°F. Once hot, cook the patties in batches if needed. Cook each patty for 3 minutes on the first side. Flip the patties, top each with 2 squares of American cheese (half a slice), and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until cheese melts and beef is cooked through. Transfer cooked patties to a plate or sheet pan and continue with remaining patties.
- Assemble the sliders: Lightly mist the slider buns’ tops with ghee spray if desired and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Spread a spoonful of the homemade mac sauce on the inside of each bottom bun. Top with a cheeseburger patty, shredded iceberg lettuce, and pickle slices. Place the top bun over the assembled ingredients and serve immediately.
