This creamy gnocchi with sausage is a one-pan wonder that’s both comforting and full of flavor. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s an easy weeknight meal that brings rich creaminess, savory sausage, and tender gnocchi all together in one dish.

Ingredients

  • 16 ounces beef sausage
  • ½ small onion, chopped finely
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup chicken broth
  • 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes with juices
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1 pound uncooked potato gnocchi
  • ½ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • Handful fresh basil, torn
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the sausage and onion in a skillet over medium-high heat for 7-10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  2. Add the garlic to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the broth and let it cook for about a minute.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cream, and gnocchi. Once the sauce starts to bubble, cover the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Uncover the pan, give it a good stir, and let it cook for another few minutes, or until the gnocchi has cooked through and is soft, and the sauce has thickened to your liking.
  6. Stir in the parmesan cheese, basil, and salt & pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef sausage with chicken sausage for a leaner option.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes or a touch of hot sauce.
  • This dish can be made gluten-free by using gluten-free gnocchi.
