Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef (lean)
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 2 tsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp pickled jalapeños, diced
- 2 cups mild cheddar cheese, shredded (divided)
- 12 dinner rolls (Hawaiian sweet rolls)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat a large pan over medium-high heat. Brown the ground beef and diced onion together until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess fat from the pan and return it to the stovetop.
- Add the minced garlic, seasoned salt, and black pepper to the pan. Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the cream cheese, chopped pickled jalapeños, and 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Continue stirring until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
- While the beef mixture is cooking, cut the rolls in half using a serrated knife. Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Evenly spread the ground beef mixture over the bottom half of the rolls. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese. Place the top halves of the rolls back on top of the sliders.
- Combine the melted butter with the garlic powder and brush it on top of the rolls. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the tops.
- Loosely cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Afterward, uncover and continue baking for an additional 10-12 minutes, until the rolls are nicely browned.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For an extra kick, you can add more pickled jalapeños or even some hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- If you don’t like sesame seeds, you can skip them or substitute with poppy seeds or everything bagel seasoning for added flavor.
- These sliders can be made ahead of time. Assemble the sliders, cover with foil, and refrigerate until ready to bake.
