S’mores Bars are a decadent twist on the classic campfire treat, offering a year-round way to enjoy the nostalgic flavors of graham cracker crust, melted Hershey chocolate, and toasted marshmallows. These bars combine a crisp and slightly sweet graham cracker base with smooth, gooey chocolate and a toasted marshmallow topping, delivering a perfectly balanced dessert that’s easy to make and sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

Crust

  • 2 Cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 8-12 Tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ Cup powdered sugar

Filling & Topping

  • 4 Hershey Chocolate Bars (4.4 ounces each)
  • 1 package mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the graham cracker crust.
  2. Prepare baking pan: Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with non-stick butter spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Mix crust ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and melted butter. Mix thoroughly with a spoon until well combined.
  4. Press crust into pan: Evenly distribute the crumb mixture into the bottom of the baking pan. Press firmly with your fingers to pack the mixture tightly along the bottom and slightly up the sides of the pan.
  5. Bake crust: Bake the crust for 5-8 minutes, until the edges just begin to turn golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool; the crust will harden as it cools.
  6. Add chocolate layer: Lay the Hershey chocolate bars over the cooled graham cracker crust, covering the entire surface as much as possible.
  7. Melt chocolate: Return the pan to the oven for about 3 minutes, just until the chocolate begins to melt and appears shiny. Remove and let cool for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Top with marshmallows: Evenly pack mini marshmallows tightly together on top of the melted chocolate layer.
  9. Broil marshmallows: Set the oven to broil. Place the pan in the oven and carefully watch the marshmallows. Broil for about 2 minutes or until the marshmallows begin to brown. Remove immediately to prevent burning.
  10. Cool and set: Allow the bars to cool completely. For best results, refrigerate to make them easier to cut.
  11. Cut and serve: Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water and dried to cut the bars cleanly. Repeat warming the knife if it becomes sticky. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • The crust will harden as it cools after baking, so be sure to press it firmly before baking.
  • When broiling marshmallows, watch them closely to avoid burning or catching fire, as they brown very quickly.
  • Refrigerating the bars after assembling helps them set and makes slicing easier.
  • Use a warm, dry knife to cut to prevent stickiness and mess.
