Ingredients
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup salted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups confectioner’s powdered sugar
- 2½ cups freeze-dried strawberries, pulverized to a powder
Instructions
- Cream the Butter and Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes.
- Add Vanilla: Add the vanilla extract and continue beating until well combined, about 1 minute.
- Add the Powdered Sugar: Gradually add the powdered sugar, a little at a time, and continue beating until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Add the Freeze-Dried Strawberries: Add the pulverized freeze-dried strawberries and beat until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Chill and Pipe: Chill the frosting in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up before piping onto cakes, cupcakes, or cookies.
Notes
- For a smoother texture, sift the powdered sugar before adding it to the frosting.
- If you can’t find freeze-dried strawberries, you can use strawberry puree, but the texture may differ slightly.
- This frosting can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
