This Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad is a perfect balance of sweet and salty, with a crunchy pretzel crust, a creamy cream cheese layer, and a fresh strawberry jello topping. It’s the ultimate dessert for potlucks, parties, or any celebration!

  • Total Time: 1 hour 25 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups pretzels, crushed
  • 1 ½ cups sugar, divided
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces Cool Whip
  • 34 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 6 ounces strawberry gelatin (2 packages – 6 ounces total)
  • 2 cups water, boiled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, ¾ cup sugar, and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then cool completely.
  3. Tip: To crush the pretzels, place them in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin, wooden spoon, or your hands to crush them.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix the boiled water with the strawberry jello and stir until the jello is completely dissolved. Stir in the sliced strawberries. Place the mixture in the fridge until the jello is partially set (about 1 hour).
  5. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, remaining ¾ cup sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Fold in the Cool Whip.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust, making sure to cover the entire crust and touch the sides of the pan to prevent the jello from seeping into the crust.
  7. Refrigerate until chilled, then carefully pour or spoon the partially set strawberry jello mixture over the top of the cream cheese layer.
  8. Cover and refrigerate the entire dish for about 3-4 hours, or until the jello and the salad are firm.

Notes

  • This dessert can be made ahead of time, making it perfect for potlucks or parties.
  • If you prefer a sweeter dessert, you can adjust the sugar in the cream cheese mixture to taste.
  • For added texture, you can top the jello with extra fresh strawberries or whipped cream before serving.
