Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 32-ounce jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
- 16-ounce jar Alfredo sauce
- 1 pound penne pasta (or ziti or rigatoni)
- ½ yellow onion, diced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9″x13″ baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
- Cook the Pasta: Cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain any excess water, leaving the pasta as dry as possible.
- Prepare the Beef Mixture: In a medium saucepan, brown the ground beef with the diced onion. Once the beef is browned and crumbled, drain any excess grease. Return the beef to the pot and pour in the jar of spaghetti sauce. Keep the mixture on low heat while the pasta finishes cooking.
- Combine Alfredo Sauce with Pasta: Once the pasta is done, place it back in the pot (with the heat off) and stir in the jar of Alfredo sauce until fully combined.
- Assemble the Dish: Pour the pasta mixture into the prepared 9″x13″ baking dish. Spread the beef spaghetti sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Rest and Serve: Let the dish rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Serve portions onto plates and pour additional spaghetti sauce on top if desired.
Notes
- You can use any type of pasta you prefer—ziti, rigatoni, or penne all work well.
- For extra flavor, add some Italian seasoning or garlic powder to the pasta and beef mixture.
- If you prefer a crispier top, broil the dish for a few minutes after baking.
