These Triple Chocolate Cookies are soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chunks and mini chocolate chips. The ultimate treat for any chocolate lover, one bite is all you need to satisfy your craving!

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 18 cookies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated white sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unbleached flour
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chunks, divided
  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the flour, baking cocoa, baking soda, and salt until the dough is smooth.
  5. Add Chocolate: Mix in 1 cup of chocolate chunks and ¾ cup of mini chocolate chips, reserving the rest for garnishing. Stir until the dough is well combined.
  6. Scoop and Shape: Using a 2-tablespoon cookie scoop, roll the dough into balls and place them 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheet.
  7. Bake: Bake for 9-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly gooey (the cookies will continue baking on the sheet once removed from the oven).
  8. Garnish: Remove from the oven and immediately press the reserved chocolate chunks and mini chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies. Optionally, spread the melted chocolate around once it melts.
  9. Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
