These Turkey and Cheese Roll Ups are a quick and nutritious snack or light meal packed with creamy cheese, fresh vegetables, and lean turkey meat wrapped in wholesome whole grain tortillas. They’re easy to prepare, require no cooking, and can be served immediately or chilled for a firmer texture. Perfect for lunchboxes, picnics, or a satisfying snack.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Wrap & Filling

  • 2 10 inch whole grain tortillas (150g)
  • ¼ cup cream cheese, softened (70g)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (60g)
  • 2 medium carrots, grated (115g)
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt (40g)

Additional Toppings

  • 6 slices deli turkey meat (106g)
  • 1 cup spinach (40g)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, shredded cheddar cheese, grated carrots, and plain yogurt. Mix well until a consistent spreadable mixture is formed.
  2. Spread the filling on tortillas: Lay each tortilla flat and divide the cream cheese mixture equally between them. Using a knife or spatula, spread the filling evenly over the center area of each tortilla, leaving about an inch of space clear around the edges to prevent overflow during rolling.
  3. Add turkey and spinach: On top of the cream cheese spread, place half a cup of fresh spinach leaves and then layer with 3 slices of deli turkey on each tortilla.
  4. Roll and slice: Carefully and tightly roll each tortilla from one end to the other, ensuring the filling stays inside. Using a sharp knife, slice each rolled tortilla into 6 even pieces to create bite-sized roll ups.
  5. Chill (optional): For best results, wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. This chilling step helps the cream cheese firm up and keeps the rolls intact when sliced. Alternatively, serve immediately if preferred.

Notes

  • Use whole grain tortillas to add fiber and nutrition.
  • Grating the carrots finely helps them blend smoothly in the filling.
  • Chilling the roll ups before slicing improves texture but is optional.
  • Substitute turkey with chicken or ham if desired.
  • These roll ups are best consumed within 24 hours for freshness.
