- 1 (20 ounce) package pizza dough
- ¾ cup pizza or marinara sauce
- ½ cup vegan mozzarella cheese

- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (232°C) to ensure it’s hot and ready for baking the bread braid.
- Divide dough: Separate the pizza dough into three equal balls to prepare for rolling and filling.
- Roll dough: Take one dough ball and roll it out into a long rectangle about 12 to 16 inches in length.
- Add cheese: Place approximately 1 ¼ tablespoons (18g) of vegan mozzarella cheese down the center of the rolled dough.
- Add sauce: Spread about ¼ cup (60ml) of marinara or pizza sauce evenly over the cheese layer.
- Roll up dough: Carefully roll the dough up into a long log, enclosing the cheese and sauce inside. Repeat this process with the other two dough balls, ending with three filled logs.
- Prepare braid base: Place the three dough logs onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Attach the tops of the three strands together by pressing them firmly, then use a sharp serrated knife to cut down the center lengthwise of each strand, creating open layers for the braid.
- Braid dough: Begin braiding the three strands by crossing an outer strand over the middle strand, alternating sides, until you reach the end. Press the ends together to seal the braid.
- Shape braid: Twist the ends of the pizza braid into an ‘S’ shape to create a beautiful twisted presentation.
- Bake: Place the braid on the lower rack of the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Remove from the oven and let the braid cool for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving to allow flavors to set and ensure easier cutting.

- Use a serrated knife for clean cuts when slicing the strands to create the braid.
