Ingredients
- 2 cups Bisquick
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup 7-Up (or other lemon-lime soda)
- 1/4 cup salted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven while it preheats.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine Bisquick, sour cream, and 7-Up until a sticky dough forms. Add more Bisquick 1 tablespoon at a time if too sticky.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll to about 1-inch thickness.
- Cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass. Do not twist the cutter; press straight down for best rise.
- Place cut biscuits into the pan with melted butter.
- Let the biscuits rise for 5–10 minutes at room temperature.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Let them stand for a few minutes to allow the butter to absorb before serving warm with jam, honey butter, or honey drizzle.
Notes
- Dough should be soft and slightly sticky—only add more baking mix if absolutely needed.
- Press the biscuit cutter straight down without twisting to achieve the best lift.
- To make drop biscuits, simply scoop dough directly into the buttered pan.
- Sprite or any lemon-lime soda can be used. Club soda with a little sugar is a suitable substitute.
- If using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt to the pan.
