Four-ingredient 7 Up Biscuits baked in butter for tall, tender layers with a golden, crispy bottom. No yeast or chilling required—just mix, cut, and bake for bakery-style biscuits in minutes.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup 7-Up (or other lemon-lime soda)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and let it melt in the oven while it preheats.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine Bisquick, sour cream, and 7-Up until a sticky dough forms. Add more Bisquick 1 tablespoon at a time if too sticky.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll to about 1-inch thickness.
  4. Cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass. Do not twist the cutter; press straight down for best rise.
  5. Place cut biscuits into the pan with melted butter.
  6. Let the biscuits rise for 5–10 minutes at room temperature.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Let them stand for a few minutes to allow the butter to absorb before serving warm with jam, honey butter, or honey drizzle.

Notes

  • Dough should be soft and slightly sticky—only add more baking mix if absolutely needed.
  • Press the biscuit cutter straight down without twisting to achieve the best lift.
  • To make drop biscuits, simply scoop dough directly into the buttered pan.
  • Sprite or any lemon-lime soda can be used. Club soda with a little sugar is a suitable substitute.
  • If using unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt to the pan.
