These creamy Avocado Deviled Eggs are a fresh twist on the classic appetizer, combining smooth avocado with zesty lime, red onion, and cilantro for a flavorful, healthy snack or party treat. Perfectly creamy, tangy, and easy to make, they bring vibrant color and nutrition to any gathering.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 3 servings (2 eggs per serving)

Ingredients

Eggs

  • 6 hard-boiled eggs

Avocado Filling

  • 1 avocado (peeled and pitted)
  • 1 lime (juiced)
  • 2 tbsp red onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the eggs: Cut the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl. Arrange the empty egg white halves on a serving platter for filling later.
  2. Combine ingredients: To the bowl with egg yolks, add the peeled and pitted avocado, freshly squeezed lime juice, finely chopped red onion, cilantro, garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Mash the filling: Use a fork to thoroughly mash and mix the yolks and avocado mixture until it reaches a smooth and creamy consistency.
  4. Fill the eggs: Spoon the creamy avocado mixture back into the egg white halves, or for a neat presentation, use a piping bag to pipe the filling into each egg white half.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle extra red onion and chopped cilantro over the filled eggs for garnish, then serve immediately and enjoy this fresh, flavorful appetizer!

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the creamiest texture and best flavor.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the filling mixture.
  • These deviled eggs can be prepared a few hours in advance and refrigerated to enhance flavors but fill just before serving to keep the whites firm.
  • For an extra zesty flavor, consider adding a splash of hot sauce or a sprinkle of smoked paprika on top.
