Ingredients
Meatball Mixture
- 2 lbs ground beef (preferably 80/20)
- 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 2 large eggs (lightly beaten)
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients. In a large bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, beaten eggs, panko breadcrumbs, kosher salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until fully incorporated.
- Add Ground Beef and Combine. Add the ground beef to the bowl and gently mix with the seasoned mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
- Form Meatballs. Portion the mixture into 24 even-sized meatballs using a cookie scoop or your hands. Roll each meatball into a ball and place them on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they are not touching.
- Bake Meatballs. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until the meatballs are golden brown. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
- Simmer in Sauce (Optional). For extra tenderness and flavor, add the baked meatballs to your favorite marinara sauce and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for the best results before serving.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat mixture to prevent tough meatballs.
- You can adjust the meatball size, but cooking time will vary depending on the size.
