Dip Base
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 16 ounces light sour cream
- 1 (1.25-ounce) package taco seasoning mix
Toppings
- ¼ head iceberg lettuce, rinsed, drained, and shredded
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 (2.25-ounce) can black olives, drained
Instructions
- Prepare the Creamy Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, light sour cream, and taco seasoning mix. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Assemble the Dip: Spread the creamy seasoned mixture evenly into a 9-inch (or slightly larger) serving dish to form the dip’s base layer.
- Add Toppings: Evenly layer the shredded iceberg lettuce over the creamy base, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese. Next, sprinkle the chopped tomatoes and green bell pepper on top. Finally, add the drained black olives to finish the topping.
- Serve: Enjoy the taco dip immediately with tortilla chips or pita chips as a delicious and fresh appetizer.
Notes
- For best taste, use softened cream cheese at room temperature to ease mixing.
- This dip can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated; add fresh toppings just before serving.
- Feel free to add jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicier version.
- Great for parties, game days, or casual get-togethers.
