Garlic Butter Steak Bites are succulent, tender pieces of sirloin steak seared to perfection and tossed in a flavorful garlic butter sauce with a hint of red pepper flakes. Ready in just 15 minutes, this easy skillet recipe makes a perfect quick dinner or appetizer that’s packed with bold flavors and a buttery garlic finish.

  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Steak Bites

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-size pieces (alternatively strip loin, tenderloin, strip steak, or rib eye)
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper, or to taste

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat the skillet and sear the steak bites: Add the olive oil to a large skillet and heat it over high heat until hot. Add the steak pieces in a single layer and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the steak to a golden brown: Let the steak cook undisturbed for at least 2 minutes to achieve a good sear. Stir the steak pieces and continue cooking for another 2 minutes, or until they are golden brown on all sides. If your skillet is small, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  3. Prepare the garlic butter sauce: Transfer the cooked steak bites to a plate. Reduce the skillet heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 30 seconds, stirring frequently, until the garlic is aromatic and just starting to brown.
  4. Toss steak bites in garlic butter: Pour the garlic butter sauce over the steak bites and toss thoroughly to coat them evenly.
  5. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the steak bites and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use a heavy-bottomed skillet or cast iron pan for best searing results.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure a good crust forms on the steak pieces.
  • You can use rib eye, tenderloin, or strip steak as alternatives to sirloin.
  • Adjust salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to your taste preference.
  • Serve with a side of mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
  • For a milder version, omit the red pepper flakes.
