  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Chicken and Marinade

  • 2 lbs chicken tenders
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 lemon (juiced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (seeded or country)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp coarse ground pepper

Yogurt Dill Sauce

  • 5-6 oz unflavored yogurt
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic (finely minced or pressed)
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 lemon (juice and zest)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Add the clean and dry chicken tenders to a bowl or plate and set aside.
  2. Make Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, honey, paprika, oregano, cumin, sea salt, and coarse ground pepper until well combined.
  3. Marinate Chicken: Pour the marinade over the chicken tenders, toss to coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours to absorb flavors.
  4. Prepare Yogurt Dill Sauce: In a small bowl, mix yogurt, fresh dill, olive oil, lemon juice and zest, minced garlic, sea salt, and a pinch of pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste and refrigerate until serving.
  5. Preheat Grill: When ready to cook, preheat the grill to medium-high heat and oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  6. Grill Chicken: Place marinated chicken tenders on the grill. Cook for about 4 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for another 4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and chicken is cooked through.
  7. Serve: Serve grilled chicken tenders drizzled with yogurt dill sauce or with sauce on the side. Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley, dill, cilantro, or basil for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes but no more than 2 hours to ensure tenderness without overpowering flavors.
  • Make sure to oil the grill grates well to prevent chicken from sticking and tearing.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safe consumption.
  • The yogurt dill sauce can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 2 days.
  • Fresh herbs as garnish add brightness and aroma, feel free to use your favorites.
