A refreshing and creamy Iced Matcha Latte made with finely sifted matcha powder whisked into hot and cold water, combined with your choice of milk, served over ice for a perfectly balanced and energizing drink.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Matcha Mixture

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 3 tablespoons hot water
  • 3 tablespoons ice water

Final Drink

  • ¾ cup milk of your choice (180mL)
  • Ice, as needed (to fill glass two-thirds full)
  • Optional: 1 to 2 teaspoons simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey (for sweetening)

Instructions

  1. Sift the Matcha Powder: In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder through a fine mesh strainer to remove any clumps, ensuring a smooth and lump-free tea base.
  2. Whisk Matcha with Hot Water: Add the hot water to the sifted matcha powder. Whisk vigorously using a bamboo matcha whisk or a mini whisk until the powder is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth with no lumps.
  3. Add Ice Water: Pour in 3 tablespoons of cold water and whisk again to combine thoroughly, cooling the matcha mixture slightly for the iced latte.
  4. Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass about two-thirds full with ice. Pour in your choice of milk, then slowly add the matcha mixture on top.
  5. Sweeten and Serve: If desired, stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of simple syrup, maple syrup, or honey to sweeten the latte. Serve immediately for the freshest taste and best texture.

Notes

  • Sifting the matcha powder is crucial to avoid lumps and achieve a smooth drink.
  • Use a bamboo matcha whisk (chasen) for authentic texture, but a mini whisk works well too.
  • Feel free to customize the milk: dairy, almond, oat, soy, or any plant-based milk works perfectly.
  • Add sweetener to taste, or skip it for a naturally earthy and slightly bitter flavor.
  • The latte is best consumed immediately to enjoy the vibrant matcha flavor and chilled refreshment.
