This easy Oreo Dump Cake combines chocolate Oreos, sweetened condensed milk, cool whip, and chocolate fudge cake mix for a rich, no-fuss dessert that’s quick to prepare and perfect for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Cookies

  • 20 – 28 Oreo cookies, divided

Wet Ingredients

  • 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz. cool whip, thawed
  • ¼ – ½ cup (57 – 113 g) melted butter

Dry Ingredients

  • 15.25 oz. chocolate fudge cake mix

Butter

  • ½ cup (113 g) cold butter, evenly sliced

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Lightly grease an 11 x 7 or 9 x 13 inch baking dish using a tablespoon of butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Layer Oreos: Evenly spread 18 to 22 whole chocolate Oreo cookies across the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  3. Add Sweetened Condensed Milk: Pour 14 oz. of sweetened condensed milk evenly over the Oreo layer, ensuring coverage to allow caramelization during baking.
  4. Spread Cool Whip: Evenly spread 8 oz. of thawed cool whip on top of the sweetened condensed milk and cookie mixture to create a creamy layer.
  5. Add Cake Mix: Sprinkle 15.25 oz. of dry chocolate fudge cake mix evenly over the cool whip layer for texture and chocolate flavor.
  6. Add Butter: Place cold butter slices (½ cup, 113 g) evenly over the dry cake mix to help moisten and enrich the cake while baking. Then drizzle ¼ to ½ cup (57 – 113 g) of melted butter evenly over the butter slices and cake mix.
  7. Top with Crushed Oreos: Sprinkle 4 to 6 crushed Oreo cookies over the top for added texture and decorative finish.
  8. Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the sweetened condensed milk bubbles and caramelizes around the edges.
  9. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before scooping into bowls. Optionally, serve with ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.

Notes

  • You can use either an 11 x 7 or 9 x 13 inch baking dish depending on the number of Oreos you use.
  • Ensure butter slices cover as much of the cake mix as possible for even moistness.
  • For best results, use chilled butter and melted butter as called for in the recipe.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream for added richness.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
