- Total Time: 12-15 minutes
- Yield: 12 wontons
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
- Wonton wraps (found at any grocery store)
- 8 oz package of cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 2 cups shredded chicken (cut into very fine pieces)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup buffalo wing sauce
- ½ cup sliced green onions
- Other Supplies Needed:
- Non-stick spray or parchment paper
- Pan for warming the chicken mixture
- Basting brush
- Baking sheet
- Fork or spoon (for mixing and scooping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a pan, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, ¼ cup of green onions, and buffalo wing sauce.
- Place the chicken mixture in the pan over low heat. Stir regularly until everything is warm (not hot).
- On a prepared baking sheet (using parchment paper or non-stick spray), lay out the wonton wrappers.
- Melt the butter in a small bowl until fully liquid.
- Using a basting brush, paint a line of melted butter along the edge of each wonton wrapper.
- Scoop a portion of the buffalo chicken and cheese mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Pinch all 4 corners of the wonton wrappers up and around the chicken mixture to form a bundle. Seal any holes by pressing the wrapper together.
- Brush the tops of the wontons with the remaining melted butter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the wontons are golden brown.
- Serve hot with a side of blue cheese dip, ranch dressing, and sprinkle extra green onions on top. For extra flavor, drizzle with more buffalo wing sauce and additional dressings on the side.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the tops of the wontons with non-stick spray before baking.
- Feel free to add a bit more buffalo sauce to the chicken mixture for an extra spicy kick.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can use low-fat cream cheese and reduced-fat cheddar cheese.
